2018 Movie Box Office: The Tovino Thomas starrer is gearing up to overtake Mohanlal's Lucifer at the box office

The disaster movie 2018 is still going strong at the box office having grossed a whopping 117 crores at the global box office.

Currently, Mohanlal's Lucifer directed by Prithviraj is the second-grossing Malayalam movie of all time with 126 crores but it is certain now that 2018 will soon be in the number 2 spot.

The disaster movie 2018 hit theaters on May 5 and has received critical and commercial success, the movie based on the 2018 Kerala floods grossed over 18 crores worldwide at the end of its opening weekend.

At the Kerala box office, on its opening day, the movie grossed around 1.8 crores but thanks to positive reactions the second-day and third-day collections have gone up, with the movie collecting 3.2 crores on day 2 and 4.1 crores on day 3.

The movie is directed by Jude Anthany Joseph. It boasts an ensemble cast including Tovino Thomas , Kunchako Boban, Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali, Lal, Siddique, Indrans, Tanvi Ram, and Vineeth Sreenivasan.

The movie was officially announced in 2018 but had a troubled production due to the global pandemic. 2018 is produced by Venu Kunnappilly, C. K. Padma Kumar, and Anto Joseph under the banner of Kavya Film Company in association with PK Prime Production.

The cinematography for the movie was handled by Akhil George, the editing by Chaman Chakko, and finally, Nobin Paul was in charge of the music.

As for Tovino Thomas, his upcoming period movie Ajayante Randam Moshanam(ARM) will have its first teaser launched today.

The movie marks the directorial debut of Jithin Lal, the movie is produced by Dr. Zacharia Thomas in association with Listin Stephen.

The movie will be set in three different time periods - 1900, 1950, and 1990 in Kerala. The Cinematography for the movie will be handled by Jomon T. John.

The music for the movie will be helmed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas and finally the editing for the project will be handled by Shameer Muhammed.

Joinnin Tovino Thomas the rest of the cast includes Krithi Shetty, Basil Joseph, Aishwarya Rajesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Shivajith, and Aju Varghese.
