Sonu Sood issues clarification in the arrest warrant case, says, ‘sad that celebs become soft targets’
Sonu Sood has been in the news for the release of his film Fateh, a film that catapulted him to the league of action heroes. Just recently, a warrant has been sent to the Oshiwara police station, Andheri West, Mumbai, in which it had directed the officials to arrest Sood and present him before the court.
The person who had issued an arrest warrant against Sonu Sood was the court of Ludhiana Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur, after the actor failed to appear despite multiple summons. It all started off with a Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna, who had filed a case against Mohit Shukla, in which he had alleged a fraud of Rs. 10 lakh, which was in regard to some investment in a fake cryptocurrency.
Following this, the court had summoned actor Sonu Sood to testify in court. And after the actor ignored the court summons, it eventually led to the issuance of the arrest warrant. The next hearing is on February 10.
On his part, Sonu Sood today, took to social media and gave a clarification regarding the same. He posted, ‘We need to clarify the news that circulating on social media platforms is highly sensationalised. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a matter pertaining to a third party in which we have no association or affiliation.
Our lawyers have responded and on February 10, 2025, we will give a statement that clarifies our non-involvement in the matter. We are neither the brand ambassadors nor are we associated in any way. This is just for unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. It is sad that celebs becomes soft targets.
