Idea of a grand romantic gestures have now turned a social media trend, says Srikant Dwivedi | EXCLUSIVE
Well known actor Srikant Dwivedi, who had recently played the lead role in the show Lakshmi Narayan and is, presently, playing the role of Lord Vishnu in the mythological show Shiv Shakti-Tap Tyag Tandav, has by now, become a household name.
In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, Srikant Dwivedi spoke about the upcoming Valentine’s Day, his idea of romance and other ‘love-filled’ things! He said that romantic relationships have become more about grand gestures and less about feelings. He adds that while everyone is not like that, but, for many people, it’s all about capturing moments for reels and views.
While expressing his idea of romance, the actor said, “The idea of grand romantic gestures has turned into more of a social media trend. People want to see how many likes they get, whether their gesture goes viral, or if it becomes a sensation in the country. Since everyone wants to be popular and famous, their actions are often driven by the desire for attention.
I am not saying this applies to everyone, but for the majority, it seems like they care more about being on the trending list than about the actual feelings behind the gesture. I believe people should focus more on the real world—emotions should be genuine and natural. Social media reels won’t give them real emotions and feelings”.
When asked him about the advice would he give to the young generation about love, pat came the reply, “The advice I would like to give to the young generation is simple—love with all your heart. If something goes wrong in a relationship, try to find a way to fix it and work things out. Find common ground instead of looking for other options on social media. Also, keep your relationship private; not everything needs to be shared with the world.”
In the same breath, he added, “There are many relationships that are thriving on old-school love. Love in its purest form still exists. Yes, life is fast-paced and driven by social media, but I have friends who keep my faith in love alive because of the way they care for each other. I strongly believe that true love still exists.
I see it in the gestures people make for each other, and I even have examples within my own family, so I don’t have to look far to find it. However, love should always come from both sides, from heart to heart. There shouldn’t be any conditions or motives behind it. Love shouldn’t be just for social media attention. If it’s truly from the heart, it will be pure. That’s my take on love.”
